33 Best Hot Drinks at Starbucks You Have to Try
There are so many hot drinks on the Starbucks menu you can get paralyzed by all the options.
These are some of my favorite hot drinks to give you some ideas and hopefully introduce a few drinks you might not have known about.
NOTE
All caffeine and calorie counts are for the Grande size.
1. Pistachio Latte
Pistachio can be a divisive flavor. But if you’re anything like me, you like it every now and then when paired with something sweet.
Starbucks’ Pistachio Latte is a great combination of pistachio and salted brown butter cookies.
Great for a subtler pistachio flavor mixed with espresso.

- Pistachio sauce
- Salted brown butter cookie flavor topping
Caffeine: 150mg
Calories: 320
Sizes: short, tall, grande, venti

2. Blonde Roast
Want a lighter, more caffeinated morning cup of coffee?
Starbucks’ Blonde Roast brew is a great choice.
I find that light roasts have more unique flavors and are generally tastier black than medium or dark roasts.
Try the Blonde Roast when you want something a little different from your morning cup, but don’t want espresso or milk.
Ingredients: Starbucks Blonde Roast coffee
Caffeine: 360mg
Calories: 5
Sizes: short, tall, grande, venti

3. Pike Place Roast
Starbucks’ Pike Place roast is the signature blend. It’s a medium roast coffee that balances flavor and depth.
It’s got subtle notes of chocolate and toasted nuts.
I think it’s the perfect daily drinker and actually goes well with cream and sugar.
After all, it’s one of the oldest Starbucks blends available.
Ingredients: Starbucks Pike Place Roast coffee
Caffeine: 310mg
Calories: 5
Sizes: short, tall, grande, venti
How to order: Just ask for Pike Place Roast drip coffee
4. Apple Crisp Oat Milk Macchiato
This is the lesser-known cousin to the Pumpkin Spice Latte. For those of us who aren’t big pumpkin fans, it’s a great autumn drink.
It combines the flavors of apple, creamy oat milk, and brown sugar with espresso.
To be honest, this is my favorite drink when the weather starts to get a little chilly.
Ingredients:
- Espresso
- Oat milk
- Apple brown sugar syrup
- Spiced apple drizzle
Caffeine: 170mg
Calories: 320
Sizes: short, tall, grande, venti

5. Caramel Macchiato
What list would be complete without the iconic Caramel Macchiato?

6. Hot Chocolate
Don’t want any caffeine in your hot drink?
Then hot chocolate is a great choice.

- Whipped cream
Caffeine: none
Calories: 370

Okay, so this is a Mocha made with white chocolate instead of dark chocolate.
And it’s awesome.
It’s creamy, sweet, and delicious, and you still get a little caffeine boost.
Be aware, though, that white chocolate sauce isn’t dairy free. If that’s a concern, I’d stick with regular mocha instead.

19. Flat White
The Flat White comes from our Aussie friends.
It’s like a latte, but without the foam. If you’re a fan of a no-foam latte, then you’re pretty much drinking a Flat White.
It’s smooth, still has milk and espresso, but drinks easier and is less filling because of the lack of foam.
I personally love Flat Whites for how thin they are.
Plus, they’re made with Ristretto shots instead of regular espresso shots.
Ingredients: milk, espresso
Caffeine: 130mg

20. Honey Almond Milk Flat White
Want to spice up your Flat White?
Try getting the Honey Almond Milk Flat White.
It’s made with non dairy milk instead of the regular 2% milk and adds honey to give the drink a little sweetness.
But it still has the thin texture of a Flat White. And personally, I like the taste of steamed almond milk instead of regular milk in this drink.
Ingredients:
- Almond milk
- Ristretto espresso
- Honey blend
Caffeine: 150mg

21. Espresso Con Panna
If you don’t like straight espresso, but also don’t want a ton of milk in your drink, I’d recommend the Espresso Con Panna.
It’s a single or double shot of espresso topped with a dollop of whipped cream.
So it’s sweet and still has that classic espresso taste.
